Blade Runner Story

Blade Runner is a 1982 science fiction film directed and written by Ridley Scott. It is based on Philip K. Dick’s 1968 novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?”. The film is set in a dystopian future in Los Angeles in 2019. The main protagonist is Harrison Ford, who plays the role of Rick Deckard, a “blade runner” who goes on a mission to hunt down and “retire” rogue replicants that have returned to Earth illegally.

As Deckard goes about his task, he gets caught up in a web of intrigue and ethical questions about identity, humanity, and artificial intelligence. “Replicants” are genetically engineered humanoid beings that are almost indistinguishable from humans. They have superior strength and agility, but because of their potential for rebellion, they are prohibited on Earth and only allowed off-world.
